Pollo GO

The in-car assistant: voice, navigation and music.

What it does

Pollo GO is Pollo Assistance built for the car: fullscreen, landscape and driven by voice. It does three things at once — it talks to you, it takes you where you ask, and it plays music — without you touching the screen while driving.

It is not a module inside the chat but a separate app that opens at /pollo-go/. You can install it on your phone like any other app (it is a PWA: it gets its own icon and opens with no browser bar).

The three screens

Conversation

You speak, it answers out loud. It is the same AI as the chat, so you can ask it anything, not just trip questions.

Live navigation

Map with your real-time position, the route drawn, turn-by-turn prompts and automatic recalculation if you go off route.

🎵

Music

Internet radio: thousands of stations searchable by country. It also ships a few test tracks so you can check the audio.

Talking to it hands-free

Pollo GO listens continuously and reacts when it hears its name. All of these work:

The command goes after the wake word: “oye pollo, take me to Granada”, “ok pollo, put the radio on”, “oye pollo, how far is it”. It also accepts the mis-hearings the microphone produces (“ok pollos”, “okay polles”), which is what road noise tends to cause.

The answer is read out loud with the system voice, so you never need to look at the screen.

How the navigation works

Pollo GO uses no paid mapping service: it runs on OpenStreetMap's open data, which is why it costs nothing to use.

While a route is active, Pollo GO checks whether you have left it and, if you have, recalculates from wherever you are. Manoeuvres come with their icon (turn, merge, roundabout exit) and the distance left to the next one.

Getting in

Open pollo-assistance.web.app/pollo-go/ and sign in with your Pollo Assistance account (email and password). On a phone, use “Add to Home screen” to install it: it opens fullscreen and landscape, which is how it is meant to sit in a car mount.

Two honest caveats: Pollo GO is not linked from the Pollo Assistance menu yet — today you get in by typing the address. And the voice side uses the browser's own speech recognition, which works well in Chrome on Android and is patchy elsewhere.
You are the driver. Pollo GO is a co-pilot, not a certified satnav: routes come from open data and can be out of date. Put the device in its mount, speak without letting go of the wheel, and always obey the road signs over the screen.
